Common questions

Do I need a referral letter to come and see you?



No. You can book an appointment with me directly, without being referred by your GP. However, if your GP or specialist advises you to see me, a short note would be very much appreciated, since he/she knows your medical history well and can tell me exactly what the request is. You can also ask them to send it to me by one of the secure systems that we use.

Will your appointments be covered by my Dutch insurance?



For Dutch insurances, my consultations are covered under alternative care ('alternatieve zorg'). In order to qualify for reimbursement, you need 1. a supplementary insurance package for this option, 2. the package should include the treatment that you received: homeopathy (code nr 24200), nutritional medicine ('orthomoleculaire geneeskunde', code nr 24000), natural medicine ('natuurgeneeskunde', code nr 24005) and 3. the practioncer is required to be affiliated with a professional association recognised by the insurance company (in my case that is the 'AVIG'). The amount that is reimbursed, can be different for each insurance company, and depends on the plan that you chose. For example, it can be an amount of 40 euro per day, with a maximum of 200 euro per year.

Will your appointments be covered by my international insurance?



It depends on the plan you are on. For MSH and Cigna, search for 'alternative therapies' or 'homeopathy'.

What do I do in case of emergency?



For life-threatening emergencies call 112 . For other acute problems, please call your family doctor on workdays between 8:00 and 17:00. During evenings/nights/weekends/holidays call the local out of office hours service (Huisartsenpost). For the Hague and surrounding areas, this is Hadoks: 070 346 96 69.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?



Are you unable to attend? Please cancel your appointment by e-mail (info(at)thiadenshealth.nl) at least 24 hours in advance. In this way, I may be able to help another patient and I will not have to charge you.

Will you become my family doctor?



No, my work is complementary to your existing treatments. Your family doctor will always be your primary health care provider.



Will my GP be informed about my visiting you?



There will be no (automatic) notice of your visit to your GP. Medical information can only be shared with your permission, or in case of emergency or impending danger. You can request your GP or your specialist to send medical reports to me, if necessary. We have the possibility to exchange medical information throught secure systems.

How will I pay for your services?



You can pay directly after the consultation by pin. The payment terminal is suitable for VPAY, Maestro, Visa, Mastercard and American Express. You will receive the invoice by e-mail after the consultation. You can also pay by bank transfer.
